Social Responsibility
In November 2016, Puredia donated 1 million dollars to create the “Sea Buckthorn Fund for Poverty Alleviation” to provide education to local children and ecotourism to encourage community engagement and preserving biodiversity. The result has been social and economic prosperity for all involved.
Environmental Responsibility
Water used in our manufacturing facility's process is purified to meet the international standard of removing biological contaminants and undesirable chemicals. The result is pollution-free Puredia exclusive product.
Supercritical CO₂ extraction is eco-friendly and efficient to produce a premium quality product, free of solvents. We never use chemicals or damaging heat.
After every production process, sewage is first filtered and then subjected to sedimentation and biological treatment with a capacity of 600 tons per day!
Environmental Protection & Restoration
China has had a catastrophic desertification problem arising year by year. To stop desertification, the Chinese government created a tree planting initiative to uproot local sea buckthorn and plant in place non-native tree species.
Since 2000, areas in northwestern China began planting sea buckthorn shrubs on the bottoms of dry riverbeds to increase water retention of the soil and thus decrease sediment loss. Benefited from its moisture conservation and nitrogen-fixing capabilities, vegetation levels increased in areas where sea buckthorn has been planted (Zhang et al. 2009).
Moreover, sea buckthorn plantation and harvesting have proved to be effective in generating employment and income and thereby helping to alleviate poverty.
